Buckeye losses: Elliott, Jones ready to exit with loss to MSU
A Spartan field goal ended Saturday’s Buckeye home game in a fashion that fans and players are not accustom to…defeat. Michigan State delivered a stunning upset to Ohio State, 17 – 14.
In speaking with the media after the game, running back Ezekiel Elliott pulled no punches in laying much of the responsibility for the loss at the feet of his coaches:
What happened today, it was kind of like a bad, bad dream. Offense had a rough day, and I’m disappointed. I’m disappointed in the play calling, I’m disappointed in the situations we were put in, and I wish it all played out differently.
Elliott also made clear the has no intentions of returning to the team next year:
This is my last game in the Shoe. I mean there’s no chance of me coming back next year.
Like Elliott, quarterback Cardale Jones also revealed his plans not to return next year…and instead declare for the NFL draft.
Last time walking down them steps and into The Shoe, wish the results were different tho pic.twitter.com/BalXhHTOS7
