Buckeyes dominate list of college football’s best
When your college football program is considered one of the all time best, your greatest players are considered among the greatest college players ever to set foot on the field.
The Football Writers Association of America has named their 75th Anniversary All-America team. The team is a list of 75 players, divided amongst three teams actually, making up a collection of the best players ever. And it’s no surprise that five Ohio State greats made the cut.
On the first team:
- Archie Griffin (running back 1972 – 1975)
- Orlando Pace (offensive lineman 1993 – 1996)
- Jack Tatum (defensive back 1968 – 1970)
On the second team:
- John Hicks (offensive lineman 1970 – 1973)
On the third team:
- Chris Spielman (linebacker 1984 – 1987)
The Big Ten was the most represented conference on the Football Writers Association’s list with 19 players overall. (jj)
