Urban Meyer: ‘Cardale is the starting quarterback’
Buckeye fans on Saturday got a look at both Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett in the quarterback role during the team’s 38 – 0 win over Hawaii.
As he did against Virginia Tech, Cardale got the start. But when things started to look a bit shaky in the second quarter, coach Urban Meyer took him out and sent Barrett onto the field. Though Barrett led the team to a touchdown, he demonstrated a few issues of his own and Meyer went back to Cardale Jones for the start of quarter number three.
Once again, the questions began…who’s your guy, coach? Meyer addressed the issue today.
“The approach I’ve taken is Cardale started. He’s the starting quarterback. I met with him yesterday. J.T. has not beat him out yet. He’s going to continue to have opportunities to do that because J.T. is a very good player and Cardale’s got to perform.”
