CBJ fans ready to experience the boom in NHL 16
One of the Blue Jackets’ biggest stars is set for a 2016 debut in EA Sports’ NHL 16.
The CBJ goal cannon, loved by Columbus fans, hated by opponents, will make its first appearance in the game series when NHL 16 releases this fall. EA’s addition of the club’s replica 1857 Napoleon field cannon is part of the game distributor’s inclusion of distinct team arena atmospheres, signature effects and props from venues around the league. Just as the cannon is fired every time Nick Foligno or one of the other guys finds the back of the net at Nationwide Arena, the cannon in this season’s version of the game will fire with each Blue Jackets home arena score as well.
Similar additions for other teams in NHL 16 include shooting smoke from the Buffalo Sabres’ scoreboard, a fan whiteout from the Winnipeg Jets and the recognizable shark head for the San Jose Sharks.
NHL 16 is set for release in September. (jj)
