Screen Shot 2015-10-19 at 10.40.51 AM19,000 athletes turned out for Sunday’s running of the Columbus Marathon. 12,000 took part in the half-marathon while 7,000 signed up to run the full 26.2 miles. With race registrations consistently selling out every year, this year’s field was expanded to allow for more participants. New course records were set in the running of both the men’s and the women’s half-marathon by Kenyans Kimutai Cheruiyot and Susan Jerotich.

Organizers say that Sunday’s event raised more than $1.1 million for Nationwide Children’s Hospital.  (jj)
