Temporary structures clear the way for Mad River Mountain to open

When a fire destroyed the main lodge at the Mad River Mountain ski resort in September, operators wasted no time in promising that the business would open this season as scheduled. Efforts are well underway to make sure that happens.

Temporary structures are being erected and work is running ahead of schedule. Mad River says that these facilities will include food and beverage services, a retail shop, a bar, a full-service kitchen and special events including live entertainment. The two aluminum-framed buildings being put in place will allow Mad River to provide services to guests throughout the coming season.

Mad River tells NBC4 that the structures will be taken down at season’s end and construction of a new permanent lodge will begin.  (jj)
