Up next to the plate: Will Ferrell
The Cincinnati Reds are getting a new addition to tonight’s roster in their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Comedian and actor Will Ferrell will take the field, playing all nine positions. Why? It’s all part of a project with MLB and HBO, who’re filming a “Funny or Die” special (airing later this year). Ferrell is also using the baseball gig to raise money for cancer charities – Cancer for College and Stand Up to Cancer – by auctioning off his game-used items on MLB.com later this year as well.
If Ferrell is playing, this might be the one time I actually watch every inning of the game! (deb)
