Last night at the 87th Academy Awards, Columbus got a little bit of the spotlight when J.K. Simmons won the “Best Supporting Actor” Oscar for his role in Whiplash. Simmons grew up in Worthington and briefly attended OSU. And while Columbus is basking in the win, it’s probably best to celebrate in accordance to Simmons’ acceptance speech: call your parents.
