Double feature: Studio 35 plans second screen addition

clipStudio 35 Cinema and Drafthouse (3055 Indianola Avenue) has big plans. If owner Eric Brembeck can secure approval from Columbus City Council and various zoning boards, movie goers can expect to see the addition of a second theater to the movie house.

Brembeck’s desire is to put a new screening room on the building’s second floor. The space measure just over 1,400 square-feet and would accommodate approximate 70 guests. Studio 35’s plans would cost nearly $400,000 to be realized, but Brembeck says that the added room would allow the cinema to host more events and bring in more revenue.

Barring any roadblocks, construction on Studio 35’s second-floor theatre would begin by the middle of next year.  (jj)
