No celebration in the endzone for Arena District bar

The Endzone (a bar in the Arena District that police were frequently dispatched to) has shut its doors for good. Management handed over the keys last week, and windows at the bar are covered with plywood. There are also several notes reading: “These Premises Shall Remain Closed Until Further Notice And Entrance By Anyone Is Strictly Prohibited.”

The bar has a history of fights. According to police, three people with hospitalized in July after being stabbed in a fight. And a few weeks later, a man was shot in a nearby park lot outside the bar.

A former employee told NBC4 that the owner closed the bar because it wasn’t lucrative to stay open, and not because of the violence.
