Potato chip recall: incorrectly labeled “gluten free”

Screen Shot 2015-10-29 at 12.55.48 PMPennsylvania-based snack food company Herr’s is recalling bags of their Sour Cream and Onion potato chips due to a problem with package labeling.

Certain packages of the chips are labeled as “gluten free” when, in fact, they’re not. The back of the bags note that the chips contain wheat but the front says “gluten free.”

Bags affected by the recall are 1.875 oz in size, have the UPC number 72600 00061 and the Herr’s product code 122. These will also include code dates of January 02, 2016, up to and including January 30, 2016.

No other chips are included in the recall and no illnesses have been reported.

The chips pose no issue to customers who have no problems with gluten.  (jj)
