Terrell Owens to play ‘Gouda Cheese’ in ad for new Wendy’s burger

Wendy’s is offering customers the cheesiest of dining experiences with their new Gouda Bacon Cheeseburger. The new burger debuts on Monday and will be topped with a creamy Garlic Aioli, Gouda Cheese, warm Swiss Gruyere Cheese Sauce, three strips of Applewood Smoked Bacon, red onions, tomato and a fresh spring mix…all served on a toasted Brioche Bun. The burger sells for $4.99.

An ad campaign for the new menu item will also launch on Monday featuring former NFL stars Terrell Owens and Vince Young (starring as football players Gouda and Gruyere). The two will be benchwarmers in the ad, but once Gouda and Gruyere take the field with Bacon, big things happen. (I can’t wait to watch Gouda pull a sharpie out of his sock.)

Wendy’s will also introduce Bacon Fondue Fries to the menu on Monday. Basically, it’s Wendy’s fries topped with the Applewood Smoked Bacon and Swiss Gruyere Cheese Sauce. The fries sell for $1.99.
