Another marijuana measure approved by ballot board

Once again, the green gets the green light. The Ohio Ballot Board has given its approval to a second marijuana legalization measure trying to get in front of voters this November. The group backing the effort, Better For Ohio, needs to move quickly. They have until July 1st to gather the 305,591 signatures required to qualify for the ballot.

The initiative would legalize marijuana for personal and medical use. It would also permit individuals to grow as many as 8 plants. This is more than under a similar plan put forward by the group ResponsibleOhio.  Better For Ohio’s plan would also allow for 40 commercial growing sites in the state. Managers of those sites would be determined by some method having to do with forty $100 bills that a businessman from Toledo has locked inside of a vault. (seriously)  (jj)
