Early voting begins

Screen Shot 2015-10-06 at 10.03.01 AMVoters have begun casting their ballots in the state of Ohio. Early voting begins today.

Registered voters in Franklin County wishing to beat the mad dash to the polls on Election Day can vote at the Board of Elections (1700 Morse Road). Columbus voters will be able to make their final choice for mayor between Andrew Ginther and Zach Scott. The county Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board (ADMHD) and Columbus Zoo both have pending levy renewals. And statewide, voters will decide on marijuana legalization. This is all in addition to various other localized issues, races and levies.

Hours for early voting:

  • 8am to 5pm – weekdays through October 23rd (closed October 12th for Columbus Day)
  • 8am to 7pm – Monday, October 26th through Friday, October 30th
  • 8am to 4pm – Saturday, October 31st
  • 1pm to 5pm – Sunday, November 1st
  • 8am to 2pm – Monday, November 2nd

As a side note, the Board of Elections is inside of a hollowed-out former Kohl’s store. The last time that I voted there, they still had giant posters on the walls showing women modeling bracelets…just as our forefathers envisioned.
