Kasich sets date for presidential announcement

After months of public consideration, traveling to early voting states and meeting with potential supporters and financial backers, Ohio Governor John Kasich is ready to announce his run for president. Kasich will enter the race for the 2012 Republican nomination with a speech at Ohio State on July 21st. The former congressman and FOX News host, now serving his second term as Ohio’s chief executive has run for the White House before. A 2000 bid for the oval office lasted about ten minutes with Johnny dropping out long before the Iowa caucuses.

In the latest polling, the governor finishes outside the top 10 candidates in the running…the threshold set by FOX News to be included in the first debate coming up August 6th in Cleveland.  (jj)
