According to new poll numbers, a majority of Ohioans approve of Republican John Kasich’s performance as governor. The new Quinnipiac study shows that 55 percent of us approve of Kasich’s work, while 30 percent disapprove. The numbers are not that big of a surprise considering that Kasich won reelection just a few months ago by a wide margin.
Respondents were also asked about Republican Senator Rob Portman and whether or not they support his upcoming reelection effort. 37% said yes, 28 % said no and the rest were counted as unsure. Former Democratic Governor Ted Strickland is said to be considering a challenge to Portman in the race. (jj)
