Ohio legislature back with two year session

The Ohio General Assembly is back, starting its two year session. And the new leader of the state House, House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger has laid out the issues he wants addressed in the upcoming years. Rosenberger will reside over a GOP caucus; the Republicans took majority control this fall when the party won 65 seats in the 99-member House and continued to hold 23 of the 33 seats in the Sentate.

Rosenberg wants to address high school graduation rates, workforce development, and other issues as part of a six-year plan, that was announced Monday. However, most of the legislatures’ time will be spent discussing the two-year state budget  and the expansion of Medicaid in Ohio.
