Move over Maury Povich. The State of Ohio is about to reveal the identity of a whole lot of mothers and fathers. A new law will take hold on Friday making available the birth records of Ohioans adopted between January 1st, 1964 and September 18th, 1996. Buckeye babies adopted before and after those dates already have access to those records, but a law passed in ’96 failed to cover the time period included with this new law. Birth parents wishing to keep their identities withheld from the children that they put up for adoption have until 3/19 to have their named redacted from the records. (jj)
