Cabot Rea’s final broadcast tonight
After 30 years with NBC4, anchorman Cabot Rea is signing off for good.
Rea told viewers in October of his decision to step into retirement at the end of this year. His final broadcast is tonight… coinciding with his 30th anniversary at WCMH.
His career path transitioned from that of a music teacher at Wilson Jr High in Newark to that of a sports anchor and feature reporter on NBC4. Eventually, Rea found his way to the anchor desk where he has been paired with Colleen Marshall for the last 23 years…a remarkably long run for any duo at the news desk.
He says that once he steps away from the news, he and his wife plan to travel. (jj)
