Chemical leak in Franklinton

Hazmat crews are responding to a reported leak at a chemical company in Franklinton. A worker at GFS Chemicals (851 McKinley Avenue) noticed a cleaning agent leaking from a tank. Firefighters say that the substance is a bleach product.

According to their website, GFS produces specialty inorganic chemicals, reagents and fine organic chemicals for process chemistry.

One employee was reportedly injured and taken to the hospital. That person is listed in stable condition.  (jj)
