It has been a difficult / tragic week for fire fighters in Cincinnati. They lost one of their own when Daryl Gordon died while battling a blaze. The 25-year veteran of Cincinnati’s fire department perished in an elevator shaft while combating a four-alarm fire. His funeral is this Wednesday and his department brothers and sisters want to be there. To help make that feasible, 127 members of the Columbus Fire Department will travel to Cincinnati to cover shifts and make it possible for those that would otherwise not be able to attend services to go.  (jj)
