DeWine accuses BP of a $33 million double-dip

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has filed suit against BP accusing the oil company of “double-dipping.” According to investigators, BP received $33 million in aid from a state fund to help cover the cost of repair to underground fuel tanks. Problem is…the oil giant had insurance to cover those repair costs. The fund is structured to help cover costs not otherwise covered by such insurance. So if / when BP took money from both the insurance company and the fund, that’s a no-no, hence the accusations of the $33 million double-dip. BP denies the findings of the investigation and vows to defend itself in court against the complaint.  (jj)
