Former Franklin County inmate claims jailers made him sit in human waste
A man who was held in the Franklin County jail in connection with a civil matter in Florida is suing the county over his treatment.
Robert Krutko was taken into custody in 2009 and, while in his shared cell, the toilet overflowed. According to his story, he was asleep at the time and, when he woke up, he was covered in human waste. Calls for help were ignored until Krutko and his fellow inmates pushed some of the waste under the door. He was moved to a medical facility where he was not given fresh clothes and not allowed to clean up for days.
His legal team was just given the go ahead by the U.S. Court of Appeals to proceed with their case.
