*Update* Former teacher Rausenberg pleads ‘not guilty’ to 32 counts
Matthew Rausenberg, the former Olentangy Local Schools District elementary school teacher, pleaded not guilty to 32 counts at his arraignment this morning. Rausenberg has been charged with 32 counts of criminal misconduct against 5 juveniles: two counts of kidnapping, two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, and 28 counts of gross sexual imposition. His bond is set at $1 million and he is facing life in prison, if convicted. (deb)

Former teacher indicted on 32 counts
Today, former Olentangy Local Schools District elementary school teacher Matthew Rausenberg was indicted by a Grand Jury on 32 charges and allegations of criminal misconduct against five juveniles. Earlier this month, Rausenberg went to court on charges of rape and gross sexual imposition involving two students (ages 8 and 10). With today’s decision, he has been charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, and 28 counts of gross sexual imposition. Drugs found at home of teacher charged with students’ rape
Upon entering the home of Matthew Rausenberg, the elementary school teacher charged with rape and gross sexual imposition of two students (ages 8 and 10), police found drugs and drug paraphernalia inside his home. Police were searching the house for evidence when they uncovered over 30 marijuana plants and equipment used to grow and manufacture marijuana. Now, the narcotics unit is also investigating Rausenberg. (deb)

Elementary school teacher accused of sexually abusing students
Matthew Rausenberg taught classes at Arrowhead Elementary in the Olentangy Local School District for more than 12 years. On Tuesday, he faced a judge to answer to charges of rape and gross sexual imposition involving two students (ages 8 and 10). According to court records, Rausenberg recorded one of the incidents on his cell phone. He is presently being held on $1 million bond.
Authorities say that they will investigate additional accusations that come their way in regards to Rausenberg. Already, they know, this is not the first time that he has been accused of impropriety. (jj)
