As Buckeye Nation prepared to celebrate the football team’s home opener, a longtime member of the Ohio State family has died.
Jon Woods, who served as director of the marching band from 1984 through the 2011 season, passed away this morning.
At Saturday’s pre-game Skull Session at St. John Arena, coach Urban Meyer led those in attendance in a moment of silence in memory of Woods.
His 28-year tenure as head of the band is a school record and doesn’t include the ten years prior in which he served as assistant director. Jon Woods was 76 years-old. (jj)
