Oberlin: ‘Hey, hey, hey, we’re taking away…your honorary degree’
With Ohio State considering whether or not to join a growing list of colleges and universities pulling honorary degrees given to actor / comedian / alleged serial rapist Bill Cosby, Oberlin College in northeast Ohio has made up its mind. They’ve taken back the honor.
At an event in 2010, the college awarded Cosby, his wife Camille and singer Stevie Wonder with honorary degrees. In the wake of numerous public allegations against the legendary comic, Oberlin has rescinded the degree given to the former Dr. Huxtable.
