Up next: nonstop service to London Town
We’ve barely had time to schedule to that trip to Alcatraz once Southwest announced direct flights to the Bay Area (and Boston), but it looks like a more ‘merry old’ time is about to be had for Cbusers. Mayor Coleman’s JET Task Force, who’s working on improving Port Columbus, met yesterday (Feb. 25) to talk about future recommendations. One of those: trans-Atlantic flights to London.
Yep, merry olde England (and other European cities, as well stateside’s Seattle and San Diego) are being eyed as potential service stops for Port Columbus flights. Just remember, airlines usually look for 200 passengers before adding nonstop flights; so start racking up those frequent flyer miles Columbus! (deb)

CMH → London. Flights could be nonstop
For Columbus travelers, seeing Big Ben could be a lot easier soon. Last week Columbus Regional Airport Authority officials went to London to chat with British Airways officials to pitch the idea of getting a nonstop flight set up between Columbus and London, according to the Dispatch. The British airline is expected to make a decision by early 2015 about the flight. For Columbus it could make internationally travel less of a hassle without having a ton of stops between CMH and London. Everyday about 50 people board planes at Port Columbus with London as their final destination, and that could be a nonstop option could be a significant flight to add to the repertoire of the airport.
