“I have guns.” – content of threat against Ohio State released

An anonymous threat of violence caught the attention of Ohio State University’s Department of Public Safety Monday night. Authorities were quick to notify students and the campus community.

The university says that they received word of the threat from people who saw it posted on an online gaming site:

“If you live in the Ohio State University, I warn you. Tomorrow at 15 hours, I will kill students and teachers with guns . I have guns and explosives in my room, which I will use.”

Reports earlier today that a man with guns had been arrested on the Oval have been declared false by OSU Police.

The Ohio State University Department of Public Safety says that they, along with law enforcement partners, are responding to the posted threat with “increased vigilance” and are encouraging the campus community to do the same.  Anyone with additional information should call 614-292-2121.
