Former Mayor Buck Rinehart laid to rest
Family and friends, connections both personal and political gathered today to say farewell to Buck Rinehart. The man who served as Columbus’ 50th mayor (1984-1992) passed away last week at the age of 68. The Columbus Zoo’s Jack Hanna paid tribute to the former mayor, as did State Auditor David Yost (Rinehart’s former spokesman) and the current mayor of Columbus Mike Coleman.
In eulogy, Coleman said:
All of us today say, ‘Thank you, Buck,’ for making this city great. You gave it your all. We all stand on your shoulders.
