*Update* Another hat tossed into mayoral race ring

It’s about to be a four-person race, as another candidate is in for a chance to be Columbus’ next Mayor. Earlier today, James Ragland announced that he’s running for mayor. Ragland currently serves as the Director of Development for Cristo Rey Columbus High School.

He joins Columbus City Council president Andrew Ginther, Sheriff Zach Scott, and former Columbus school board president Terry Boyd in the upcoming mayoral race.

Columbus City Council President Andrew Ginther officially announced his candidacy for mayor of Columbus. The announcement was made this morning at the William H. Adams Community Recreation Center.

Columbus City Council President Andrew Ginther is expected to announce his plan to run for mayor later today. Ginther would join Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott (who announced last week) in the mayoral race. Aside from Scott, no one else has officially announced plans to run, but a few state Senators and Representatives have expressed interest. The decision for many of these potential candidates to run for mayor came after Mayor Michael Coleman announced that he will not be seeking reelection. Since deciding this, Coleman has not endorsed a candidate but many think that he will endorse Ginther.
