Columbus City Council President Andrew Ginther is expected to announce his plan to run for mayor later today. Ginther would join Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott (who announced last week) in the mayoral race. Aside from Scott, no one else has officially announced plans to run, but a few state Senators and Representatives have expressed interest. The decision for many of these potential candidates to run for mayor came after Mayor Michael Coleman announced that he will not be seeking reelection. Since deciding this, Coleman has not endorsed a candidate but many think that he will endorse Ginther.
