Screen Shot 2015-09-03 at 4.12.09 PMColumbus Mayor Michael Coleman’s administration is preparing to take disciplinary action against Bob Hsieh. Hsieh is a city employee and the mayor’s Asian expert on business development.

As part of the ongoing federal investigation, the FBI and the Justice Department are looking into the sale of Mayor Coleman’s home in 2010 to a Chinese businesswoman. After the sale, Hsieh supposedly extended special assistance to the woman in helping her to establish her business in the U.S.A. and in setting up bank accounts for her. Hsieh also reportedly helped the woman wire $100,000 to a foreign country.

An internal investigation into the matter has revealed that Hsieh went well beyond his job duties in helping the woman and much of that assistance was done on city government time.

Mayor Coleman has said that he knew nothing about special assistance given to the woman that bought his home.  (jj)
