Westerville sergeant is First Lady’s date for State of the Union

Army sergeant Jason Gibson (from Westerville) will be a guest of First Lady Michelle Obama for tomorrow’s State of the Union Address. Gibson was wounded in Afghanistan and met President Obama at Water Reed hospital in 2012. After the visit, Gibson wrote a letter to the president, thanking him and stressing that there is life after a traumatic event. The State of the Union Address will air tomorrow (Jan. 20) at 9:00 p.m.
