Opinion: Cbus Ikea builds concern over traffic

Polaris Parkway is a giant clusterf…well, to say the least, it’s a giant pain. Those who drive that stretch of road (especially in the morning and evening rush hour) complain about how slow it is. Pat Moore who works near Polaris Mall said, “It takes me at least 45 minutes to 50 minutes to get a couple of exits on I-270.”

And while most of us were loosing our minds* over the news Ikea moving into Polaris’ Germain Amphitheater, those who live and work near Polaris aren’t too happy about it. They’re worried about the about of traffic the new store will add to the area. Developers say, to help with the potential traffic congestion, they’re planning a four-lane extension from Worthington Rd to Gemini Parkway – to be called ‘IKEA Way’. (deb)
