We all love the notion of those brick streets in German Village but our car shocks can only take so much.

GOOD NEWS!

The City of Columbus has just steered $1 million to the village for repairs of brick streets. The influx of dough from the Urban Infrastructure Recovery Fund will help to repair or replace brick on Mohawk between Whittier and Reinhard. Those repairs are expected to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $400,000, leaving $600,000 for additional repair work. Other areas slated for repairs funded through this money and through cash from the city’s brick repair program include:

  • Mohawk between Livingston and Whittier
  • Beck between Pearl and Lathrop
  • Macon Alley between Sycamore and Beck
  • Pearl between Sycamore and Livingston
  • Jaeger between Beck and Sycamore
  • Sycamore between Third and Grant
  • Kossuth between Third and Mohawk
  • Frankfort between City Park and Mohawk
  • Sixth between Sycamore and Beck
