$150K is a pretty good inventive incentive

Two OSU inventions received a combined $150,000 yesterday (Feb. 12) from The Ohio Third Frontier Commission towards prototypes and marketing testing. SightFourAll Inc., which got $100,000, created software that uses a smartphone or tablet camera to conduct eye tests; its goal is to lower cost and increase availability for eye exams internationally. The last of the money ($50,000) went directly to OSU for prototypes it made of gear-reducers that increase engine torque.
And while I might not understand all the science that went into these projects, I do know one thing. OSU sure has some inventive (and impressive) minds. (deb)
