2,200 pigs involved in highway crash
A semi truck carrying a load of 2,200 pigs from South Carolina to Indiana crashed on a highway near Xenia, Ohio Monday night. The driver was unharmed, a passenger escaped with minor injuries and many of the pigs simply escaped. Firefighters and law enforcement officials were called in to help collect the swine. Estimates say that 1,500 were captured and as many as 400 may have been killed.
(For those 400…talk about an unexpected means to a quite expected result.)
Farmer: Don’t get too attached to those young pigs, child. They’re to be killed.
Child: You mean slaughtered, father?
Farmer: No, child. They’re going to die in a car crash on an Ohio freeway.
Anyway, by my math, that leaves about 300 pigs traveling the road to freedom.
That’s all folks. (jj)
