Justice prevails in case of glitter-bomber
Here’s an update to a story that I had almost forgotten about…but not quite.
In January, a 25-year-old employee of the Summit County Fiscal office submitted her one-week notice. Days later, she somehow gained access to her supervisor’s office and glitter-bombed the place. She caused quite a mess and left some measurable damage.
The AP reports that a judge in Akron has now sentenced Samantha Lockhart to 50 hours of community service and a fine of $1,000. She’s also been ordered to write an apology. (jj)

25 year-old Samantha Lockhart is an employee of the Summit County Fiscal Office, but her time there is winding down. She turned in her resignation on Monday giving her employer a one-week notice. Often times, when someone leaves their workplace, fellow employees throw them some sort of party or take up a collection and buy that person a gift. In this case, that’s probably not likely.
After calling off of work on Tuesday, police say that Samantha and an accomplice showed up to the office on Wednesday, gained access to the supervisor’s office and trashed the place. Glitter and toilet paper were thrown everywhere. For good measure, Silly String was sprayed everywhere. The boss’ family photos and other personal items were destroyed. Computers and other office items were also damaged. Samantha has been arrested and charged.
*Observers are calling it the worst case of glitter-bombing since Mariah Carey’s 2001 film.
