Bexley cafe owner cancels racy private event featuring young girls
Billy Strickland is the owner of Bexley’s C’est Si Bon Cafe on East Main Street. She had agreed to allow a group called the Joyyou Maid Cafe to hold an event there on Sunday, but as things got underway, Strickland changed her mind. Middle school-aged girls in skimpy maid outfits serving a group of older gentlemen did not sit well with the Bexley business woman. She deemed the event inappropriate. Joyyou models their events after similar places in Japan that cater to obsessed fans of anime characters. In addition to shutting down Sunday’s event, Strickland also called police. Authorities determined that no laws were broken and so no arrests were made. Joyyou says that they are presently at work planning their next event. (jj)
