Cash-strapped Franklin lays off four (or half) its police force

Franklin Township is facing tough financial times and as result had to lay-off four of its police officers. The only problem: that’s half of its police force.

The township’s two police levies weren’t enough to keep the eight-officer payroll. On February 6, the four officers will be out of job and will join five firefighters who were cut two months ago. (deb).
