Columbus named one of USA’s best cities for families
The personal finance social network Wallet Hub recently took a look at the 150 most populated cities in the country and ranked them in terms of best / worst for families. They examined 30 statistics in 5 different areas, and when all was said and done, Columbus came in as the 39th best city on the list. Not too shabby. In fact, we fared much better than other Ohio cities.
- #74 – Toledo
- #110 – Cincinnati
- #115 – Akron
- #126 – Cleveland
We did best in health and safety, placing 13th overall.
Not to pick on Cleveland here, but they did poorly in a number of categories. Remember this is out of 150 cities. Cleveland finished #146 in terms of lowest median family salary, #147 for highest percentage of families below the poverty level and #150 with the highest divorce rate. Yikes.
Stepping back, the top five best cities for families in America:
- Overland Park, Kansas
- Plano, TX
- Virginia Beach, VA
- Lincoln, NE
- Sioux Falls, SD
