*UPDATE* Charges filed in double shooting

Murder charges have now been filed in connection with Wednesday’s shooting deaths of a local businesswoman and her brother near the intersection of Parsons and Kossuth. Jenea Harvison and her brother were in the parking lot of her daycare center (Success Kidz) when her estranged husband (Roy Harvison) allegedly appeared and fatally shot them both. Police later shot the husband when he failed to put down his weapon. He is now listed in stable condition at Grant Medical Center.  (jj)

Wednesday’s double shooting has left two dead and a suspect hospitalized. According to Columbus Police, two sergeants were driving along Parsons Ave. and E Kossuth St. around noon, when they heard gunshots. When they got to the scene, a man was shooting another man in a parking lot. The sergeants and two backup officers confronted the man, and one of the sergeants and both officers then fired at the suspect. The suspect, identified as Roy Harvison, was taken to Grant Medical Center. He is in stable condition.

A Columbus Police spokesman said that the shooting was the result of a domestic incident between Harvison and his wife, Jenea Harvison. Both Jeanea and her younger brother, Donell McDonald, were shot yesterday and pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, Harvison has not been charged. (deb)
