Facebook Check-In: Jail. Status update puts Ohio ex-con back behind bars.

Elyria, Ohio – In May of 2014, Ryan Maye was sentenced to 3 years in prison on vehicular assault and vehicular homicide charges.  He was granted early release last month.  But now a recent Facebook post by Maye has landed him back in jail.  The post shows Maye extending both middle fingers and saying, in part, “Prison didn’t break me.  It MADE me. I’m free.”  The post was deemed disrespectful by the family of Maye’s victim and by the judge presiding over the case.  And so…Maye was sent back to jail.  A hearing will be held next week to determine if he’ll have to serve out the remainder of the three-year sentence.  (jj)
