Jeanette calls it a Trumpkin. Its the latest in her series of pumpkin pieces depicting politicians, entertainers and other notable figures. She’s been putting these creations together for more than 25 years. Past inspirations have included the likes of Phil Robertson (Duck Dynasty), Miley Cyrus, Santa Claus, Prince Harry, Kanye West, President Obama, Brutus Buckeye and O.J. Simpson just to name a few.
When it comes to deciding which figures she’ll immortalize on a pumpkin, she says that “the subjects are really self-selected – by being in the news all the time and by being the perpetual topic of conversation.” That criteria made Donald Trump an obvious choice this year.
For those curious on the stats, Jeanette says that the Donald Trump pumpkin weighs in at 374 pounds. (Last year’s Kim Jung Un creation matched at 374 pounds.) Linus would be pleased. (jj)
