Update: Garbage truck fire causes downtown traffic issues

A garbage truck traveling downtown caught fire this morning and has resulted in the closing of a portion of I-70. The fire was first reported just after 7:30am.

The latest from ODOT:

The right lane of I-70 west is now open at the I-70/71 East Split. The ramp from I-71 south to I-70 west will remain closed for clean-up.

There have been no reports of injuries.  (jj)
