I-71 reopens after HAZMAT situation
I-71 S at 270N was closed earlier due to a potential hazmat situation with a truck along 161. The lanes are now open and police are reporting that the substance leaking from the truck was sodium-hydroxide, or lye. (deb)

A HAZMAT situation involving a tanker truck Thursday afternoon has forced the closure of I-71 in both directions near 161.
- I-71-South is closed at 270 on the north side
- I-71-North is closed at Morse Rd
