Screen Shot 2015-10-05 at 10.41.42 AMIf John Kasich was hoping to get a bump in the polls from his recent appearance with Seth Meyers, he didn’t get it.

It wasn’t so long ago that the Ohio governor was riding high in the polls. Kasich and his supporters had invested millions in the early voting state of New Hampshire and the strategy appeared to be paying off. Last month, an NBC News / Wall Street Journal / Marist poll had him as just one of three Republican presidential candidates in double digits in the state. In fact, Kasich was in second place and trailing only the frontrunner (Donald Trump).

Now…that appears to be hardly the case. Trump has dropped from 28 percent to 21 percent, but still leads the pack. Kasich has lost half of his support, falling from 12 percent to 6 percent. He now sits in a tie for 7th place with Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

  • 1 – Donald Trump 21%
  • 2 – Carly Fiorina 16%
  • 3 – Jeb Bush 11%
  • 4 – Marco Rubio 10%
  • 5 – Ben Carson 10%
  • 6 – Chris Christie 7%
  • 7 – John Kasich 6%
  • 7 – Ted Cruz 6%
  • 9 – Rand Paul 5%
  • 10 – Mike Huckabee 1%

Trump (24%) also leads in Iowa with Kasich (3%) at the way, way, way back of the pack.

On the Democratic side in New Hampshire, Bernie Sanders continues to lead Hillary Clinton, 48% – 39%. Clinton leads Sanders in Iowa, 47% – 36%.
