Like a good neighbor, State Farm is testing drones

One of the top insurance companies in the state (and the nation), State Farm has been given approval by the FAA to begin testing drone technology for commercial purposes. The company is the first insurer to be given the okay. State Farm says that drone use could come in handy for processing claims following natural disasters like storms and flooding, giving adjusters a faster look at roof and other damage.

Private testing is set to begin in Illinois and, if that proves successful, will likely expand to real-world scenarios elsewhere.

I’m okay with all of this. Just keep Jake from State Farm away from my house. He sounds hideous.

“Well, he’s a guy, so….”
