Bob McDorman, a fixture on the Columbus auto scene for more than 50 years has died. McDorman opened a Chevy dealership in Canal Winchester in 1965. Just a few years ago, he sold majority ownership in the lot to its current owner Jeff Wyler, though McDorman continued to regularly go into the office up until quite recently.

Today we lost a legend—a true class act. His legacy will forever live on in the multitudes of those that he touched. Rest in peace in that huge car lot in the sky.

He was a noted fan and collector of Chevrolets, especially of Corvettes. Last year, he opened his own auto museum in Canal Winchester and in 2012, he was inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame. Bob McDorman was 82 years old.  (jj)
