Max & Erma’s manager tracks stabbing suspect
It was far from your typical Sunday evening at the German Village Max & Erma’s (739 South Third Street).
A frantic family came into the restaurant saying that their adult daughter had just been stabbed. Employees called 911 while the M&E’s manager (Bruce Solliday) got a description of the suspect from the victim’s father. While his staff waited with the woman’s family for medics, Solliday went out in search of the assailant.
Spotting the woman on a city street nearby, Solliday began tracking her…following her every step for 3 1/2 blocks. Multiple times, the woman turned and asked him if he was following her. Solliday said that he wasn’t following her and that he was simply walking up the street to the grocery store.
A short time later, police found the woman (with the Max & Erma’s manager following close behind). Solliday says that he stopped in his tracks and pointed to the woman. Officers then took her into custody.
The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center where she is expected to recover from her injuries. (jj)
