Ohio voter fraud cases referred for prosecution

A review of last fall’s election by the Ohio Secretary of State’s office found 42 voting irregularities. Fourteen of those have now been turned over to the Ohio Attorney General’s office for prosecution. Two of the cases are from Franklin County where individuals who voted here were also found to have voted in Kentucky and Illinois. (26 states other than Ohio also checked their voting rolls for issues.)

“The findings of this report demonstrate once again that voter fraud exists, it’s rare and we are holding people accountable for their actions…Voter fraud, no matter how rare, reduces the confidence in our system of elections and it can’t be tolerated.”

– Ohio Secretary of State John Husted

Husted said that none of the cases at issue in Ohio pushed an election one way or another.  (jj)
